The untold Jewish history of fish and chips



Did you know the iconic British dish fish and chips actually has Jewish origins? Yara explains the lesser known history of how fried fish and potatoes (with malt vinegar) got to the UK’s shores and what it had to do with the Spanish Inquisition – a time when Jews and Muslims alike were expelled from Spain and Portugal in the late 1400s.
