President Xi's Finland visit to shore up trade ties

Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Finland on Tuesday for a three-day visit to rekindle trade relations with the Nordic country. This is his first visit to northern Europe as China’s head of state and he is keen to shore up cooperation and economic relations with Helsinki. At a time when de-globalization sentiment is running high, better relations with Finland will boost cooperation with Europe and show China’s full support for globalization and European integration. For more on the significance of this visit, World Insight talked to former Chinese ambassador to Sweden Chen Mingming; Mikko Annala from the Nordic think tank Demos Helsinki; and Teemu Naarajarvi from the University of Helsinki.
